Vice President of Engineering: Microsystems Development Technologies, Inc.

Larry Polyak received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in Illinois in 1978. Shortly thereafter, he began working in Honeywell Information System’s elite Advanced Engineering Program in a variety of areas including software, manufacturing test, hardware, and marketing, eventually finding a home in hardware design engineering for new storage peripherals.
After five years, and armed with a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University, Larry left the relative safety of a Fortune 500 company for the excitement of a Silicon Valley startup and the chance to take advantage of the deregulation of the telephone industry. Although the startup lasted only a year, hooked by the fast-paced atmosphere, short development cycles, and the satisfaction of seeing his work come to market in record time, Larry formed Microsystems Development Inc., a company specializing in bringing new microprocessor applications to market.
Today, Larry continues to lead the company he co-founded. Microsystems Development now offers a complete range of custom electronic product design and development as well as prototype building, pre-production and production printed circuit board turnkey services. They are proud to have been involved in many successful products, ranging from sophisticated toys and electronic learning aids to medical, dental, and industrial control equipment.
An active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America, in 2014, Larry was given the District Award of Merit by his local Boy Scout Council.
